This is the local chapter of the national Drinking Liberally organization. We are fighting to preserve the old-growth forest in the heart of Springfield known as Griffin Woods. We must stop the razing of these priceless trees for replacement by a Schnuck’s grocery store and strip mall. Heedless destruction of Springfield’s green space and the consequent spread of blighted, abandoned properties threatens the future of the city and the well-being of its inhabitants.
